The Rock’s ‘Survivor Series’ Best Moments
With The Rock set to make his return to action at The Survivor Series this Sunday, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of his highlights from the event, which has been a defining one for “The Great One.”
“The People’s Champ” made his debut at the event in 1996, and won his first WWF Championship there two years later. His last match at the event was ten years ago in 2001.

1996: Rock (as Rocky Maivia) debuts and teams with Marc Mero, Jake Roberts and Barry Windham to face Crush, Jerry Lawler, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and Goldust. Note Jim Ross saying “He’s going to be the man, right there” when Rock comes out.

1998: The Rock defeats Mankind in the finals of a tournament to crown a new WWF Champion.

2001: The Rock (as part of Team WWF) pins Steve Austin (as part of The Alliance) to end the WCW/ECW Alliance. This was the last match in which he wrestled at the event.

Rock and Cena Team Up at Survivor Series

Rock and John Cena vs The Miz and R-Truth
It’s official! The Rock has accepted John Cena’s offer to team together against The Miz & R-Truth at Survivor Series on Nov. 20.
Finally, The Rock has come back to Survivor Series!
Returning to the event where he made his WWE debut 15 years ago, The Great One will team with his WrestleMania XXVIII opponent John Cena to take on the devious pairing of The Miz & R-Truth in the same arena where The Brahma Bull had both his first and last match — Madison Square Garden.
Never before have the Cenation leader and The People’s Champion joined forces. Never again will it happen.
